Real estate has always been a favourite asset for criminals through which they would launder their money. It is as attractive to criminals as it is to investors. Real estate developers become prime targets for money launderers and can inadvertently act as involuntary accomplices or facilitators to the illicit flow of ‘dirty money’.
Although the sector has been subject to increasingly stringent anti-money laundering regulations across the globe, these regulations are often poorly enforced. The proliferation of leaks and investigations concerning real estate money laundering suggests that the problem persists.
This key training programme is designed to provide a wealth of knowledge and insight on the money Laundering and financing of terrorism schemes surrounding real estate.
The course was successfully delivered in Luxembourg and to many financial institutions across the EU and major players of the Real Estate in the Indian Ocean.
